Emotions play an integral role in your ability to learn (Damasio 1999). Emotional stress and anxiety causes adverse reactions to human physiology (Amen, 2005) and has direct effect on your neurological capacities to think clearly, analyse logically, progress rationally and learn efficiently (Goswami, 2004). |
Transitioning issues:
While issues associated with transitioning vary, research has identified several difficulties that are typically encountered during primary to high school, including:
These stressors may appear as anxiety and frustration and result in negative or disruptive behaviours. Such behaviours can be problematic, and can make the transitioning process even more difficult for the young person. Here are some tips and strategies to manage your emotions and feel good so that you can enjoy high school life and further succeed academically and beyond and grow to be a positive, active and informed citizen and be a great role-model for future generations.
